Los Santos

Description

The Province of Los Santos has an area of 3 804 sq km and has 88,606 habitants . His head city is Las Tablas. Other cities and towns in the province are: La Villa de Los Santos, Macaracas, Guararé, Pocrí, Tonosí and Pedasi. 

This province along with that of Herrera is considered the cradle of Panamá traditions and folklore. The province has beautiful beaches, such as The Arenal, the port in Guararé, vein or reeds, beautiful rivers as Tabuara and Rio Oria

And other tourist attractions like: The Rock of the Honda, Isla Iguana, and the Museum Belisario Porras. And not to mention the famous carnivals of Las Tablas. 

Climate is a region of quality during the nights are a cool sea breeze. 

Los Santos is known for its hospitable people and festive, with festivities that mixed Hispanic influences with the native, as the "Corpus Christi", which is usually celebrated during the month of June each year, in the town of La Villa Los Santos next to the magnificent colonial church of St. Athanasius. 

This is a population picturesque houses with thatch walls and roof tiles, distinctly Hispanic heritage. If you want to visit an archaeological site, we recommend the Cerro Juan Díaz. 

During the carnival the city lives all its splendor that lasts 4 days and 5 nights, with the city of Las Tablas. One of The Best Carnivals in the Republic, where one of the main attractions of the carnival in Las Tablas, are the famous Mojadera Culeca or that is sprayed with water (clean and purified) to the participants of this activity. It is located in the central park and surrounding streets where they develop the carnival, while admiring the ride of the queens of both streets. 

The east coast of The Azuero Peninsula is home to some of the best beaches in Panama.Unlike the beaches surrounding the city of Panama, Azuero beaches are removed. The beaches are wide and long and can be excellent diving and snorkeling among coral reefs near the coast. 

The specialty Pocrí District, is the making of beautiful and comfortable hammocks. And Tonosí district is the largest in the province and one of the most fertile regions of the country. On the beaches of La Marinera Cambutal and nesting turtles in the months of September, October and November. You can watch the arrival of up to three thousand turtles in one night.
