Cocle Province is located in central Panama. Its area is 4927 km ² and 230.000 habitants. Its capital is Penonomé. The northern border of the province bordering the province of Colon, on the east by the Province of Panama , south to the Gulf of Parita Veraguas and west of the center and north of the province is marked by mountains and plains, in its lowlands grow large areas of sugar cane and livestock growing stretching to The Coast Pacifica.

In this province are the main beaches of the Pacific and Santa Clara and Farallon. It also is El Valle de Anton, who is the only place in our country where you can admire the square trees.

This is a gigantic crater of a volcano, which later became a lake, and later in a swampy area.

For this are the hot springs in the region. It is one of the only places to see golden frogs. And one of the mountains you can see the Sleeping Indian, who according to legend the Indian Air Flower fell for a Spanish. And her fiance Indian Yaravi, committed suicide, and her for betraying his people did not see more to the Spanish, yet she goes to the mountain and beside a dead tree and mountains pitied perpetuate her figure in a silhouette can be seen from El Valle. Another attraction is El Chorro del Macho and Jet of the girls, the Piedra Pintada, El Valle Museum, Zoo Loquat and the Sunday market

Another place is El Caño, a pre-Columbian archaeological site burial. Near El Cano is the village of Nata. Santiago de Nata de los Caballeros is now the oldest inhabited city of Panama. Nata was the first city founded in the interior of the Republic, and is one of the few cities that has not moved from its original location. It was founded by Pedro Arias Davila, to serve as a key point to make war on the chief Urraca and other native tribes. Nata's name may have originated the name of a chief. However, there Another version, in which the King of Spain knew that this place had many disputes and corruption. Thus sent to 100 distinguished gentlemen to bring order and improve the image of the city.

Hence the name of Nata de los Caballeros , for these blue-blooded gentlemen who would be the flower and "Nata" of the city. We can not fail to mention one of Panama's colonial gems, it is the Church of Nata de los Caballeros, a huge white temple preceded by a small fence with nice booths, inside which shows a beautiful altarpiece of 1751.

In 1581 San Juan Bautista was founded Penonomé, Diego de Villanueva Zapata. But its name comes from a chief named Nomé, who fought against the Spanish troops of the conqueror Badajoz. This, desirous of gold, chased Nomé, which he put to torture to force him to say where he kept his wealth. The chief died of severe torture wounds. It is said that when passing by this place, the Spanish also co-founder of Nata Espinosa, found a tomb with a stone on which was engraved an inscription I read: "Aqui Penó Nomé." As a curious note, Penonomé functioned as the capital of the Panamanian isthmus until finally moved to the new city under the Ancon Hill or Old Town.

In this province also offers places like the El Caño Archaeological Museum, the Jets wave, the jet Távida in Penonomé Penonomé Museum, the crafts market in La Pintada, among others.
