Coclé is a is located in the center of the Country. Its capital is a small town called Penonome.
Cocle was founded on September 12, 1855 an obtain the title of Department of Coclé by the president Justo de Arosemena. Then the Departmente became a province, by the legal act Number 190, in October 20, 1985. Its primerily income is the agriculture, lots of sugar cane and tomatoes are the major crops.
In this province we can find several beaches like Santa Clara, Farallon and Rio Hato, where big beach resort offer all inclusive programs and tourist activity has increased in the last years.
The area of Gorgona, Chame, Coronado, Playa Blanca, Farallon, Rio Mar and Buena Ventura are tourism and residential town with fast growth.
